A Celebration of Women’s Month

As women’s month comes to a close, I wanted to share some of my reflections on my childhood. As a child I wanted to be an astronaut. As of July 2016, there are 60 female astronauts out of 537 throughout the world. There’s still plenty of room for your daughters, sisters, and nieces, encourage their dreams and love of science.

Women scientists have contributed a great many things and are a continued interest to me to this day. You can read up on more interesting female scientists here and perhaps share that with the young women in your life.

I was not athletic as a child but I have become involved with organized sports as a mom to a young son. It feels good to see young people, and especially girls increasingly getting involved in sports. In my opinion, organized sports have taught men how to compete and yet respect each other for generations. Now young female student-athletes can learn a lot about business and I hope these girls will develop a love of science and business while learning to love the game.

I did not become an astronaut, as you have probably guessed, but I am most certainly a Trekkie and science buff. However, I use my logic skills, expertise, experiments, and research to develop winning and successful marketing plans for small business throughout the Jersey Shore.
