I attended the Women Entrepreneurs Rock Event in Asbury Park, and wanted to highlight some of the panelists from time to time.
Michele founded LPR in 1988 with just one client, Matchbox Toys. Today, she’s grown the agency to nearly 25 employees with a full client roster, ranging in categories from toys and baby gear to lifestyle brands and social good campaigns.
Listening to Michele Litzky and how she has grown her business over 28 years was inspiring. She works hard, started with one Public Relations account in her small, windowless apartment and now has 25 employees! Her staff has been drawn from some of her former students, she seems to cherish them. They celebrate birthdays, do yoga in the office and have flex time. These are all the perks every employee wants – but if your staff isn’t pulling their weight – it’s just not financially possible. It sounds like Michele has molded her staff into one that works hard, respects her – and in turn she seems to truly be enamored with them.
While she was away, her staff created a video about the agency (but without any input from Michele) – and she loved it. The beauty of empowering and celebrating not only her clients – but her staff came through loud and clear.
