One of the platforms that we develop sites for our customers in is Shopify.  It is a “hosted solution” meaning, you use the Shopify backend content management solutions (CMS) and Shopify hosting.  You own the content of  your site, but not the platform (so you can’t easily move it) but it is one of the most popular ecommerce platforms available.
