Adult Day Care – seems like something odd. Until you need it. I have had the experience of caring for my elderly mother-in-law. She is a fantastic woman, but working full-time myself did not allow me to care for her during the day. What a wonderful service companies like We Care Adult Care provide to our families. You don’t realize how much it takes to care for an elderly person, and they deserve the best care. They deserve to be treated with respect and kindness and dignity.

Tracey was nurse who decided to take her care giving skills to the next level. She opened We Care Adult Care in 2000. ‘We Care Adult Care, Inc.’ was nominated for and won the Small Business Success Award by the NJ Small Business Development Center, received proclamations from former Governor McGreevey and Senator Joseph Kyrillos for outstanding Service to the Community, highlighted on News 12 New Jersey, a New Jersey television station, and has had numerous newspaper articles written about adult day care in local and regional papers and magazines – according to her website.

I found Tracey the most “business like” of the panelists, which was interesting since her profession is the most demanding in a care setting. She was smart, effective and most importantly, praised her team. She was very clear that you can’t do this all alone – and she is very proud of the staff she has put together.

She also knows the power of not expecting your staff to do anything you wouldn’t do yourself – such as the physical caring of a patient. As a business owner, she felt you have to get to know all aspects of business, from patient care, to accounting, to the parking situation at your building.

After all, it is your business.
